Children’s Holiday Illustration Workshop

9th July 2019

This workshop is designed to develop skills and learning around the art of illustration.  Children will learn about the language of art, what tools illustrators use and have a chance to create their own illustration project.  We will look at illustration in picture books and talk about other applications such as textiles, cards and in advertising. Morning tea is provided and children will have an opportunity to design and create a set of gift cards and a gift bag.

Bookings can be made to the Little Gnome Bookshop over the phone or via their Facebook event page  Stop and enjoy a delicious Montville coffee at the Biggest, Little Bookshop in Wynnum.

Down by the Bay

July 2018

I have just finished Illustrations for a collaboration with Martii Maclean on her next book, The Adventures of Isabelle Necessary. This delightful, middle grade chapter book is due for release in a few months time. A book that will appeal across generations for the sheer delight of revisiting some of the wonderful experiences and adventures from our childhoods, past and present. I’m looking forward to revisiting Isabelle and her friends in Saggy Bay for some adventures when the print book will be released around October 2018. Find out more about Martii’s work at

Storytelling adventures

27th July 2017

I have been visiting kindergartens and creches to share my book, Dream. So many wonderful listeners asking questions and sharing ideas to help bring my book to life. To extend upon my storytelling sessions, the children have been getting hand ons with a craft activity of making dream catchers.

Drawings from a recent holiday to Moreton Island have inspired ideas for writing. To me, there is nothing like an adventure that includes a boat trip, sand between your toes, sea stars on a beach and snorkelling on a reef to stir the creativity in your soul.
